About The Race

Camp Harbor View provides over 600 of Boston’s inner-city youth each year with an unforgettable experience that lasts a lifetime. At the conception of Camp Harbor View, Jack Connors and Mayor Thomas Menino envisioned a haven that would give hope to children and families where hope was hard to find. Today, CHV offers a summer alternative outside of campers’ familiar and often unsafe city blocks, providing the opportunity to take part in numerous activities, both physically and mentally motivating, and to discover talents and passions they did not realize they possessed. In turn, they experience the joy of self-discovery, new-found confidence and hope for their future.
Camp Harbor View is made possible by the generosity and support of the community of Boston. On July 28, 2011, the Harborthon will unite our community to run together for the children of Boston on location at Camp Harbor View in the Boston Harbor. It is a chance to experience the beauty of Long Island and Boston’s skyline and to see the camp through the campers’ eyes -- where teamwork and determination are combined with our #1 Rule: Have Fun!
